Context

Las Qolqas needed to improve the way its guests access hotel information once they are in their rooms. The challenge was not only to inform, but to do so in a fast, intuitive, and seamless way, avoiding printed documents or external applications.

The solution had to integrate naturally into the accommodation experience and be available at any time from the guest’s mobile phone.

Approach and solution

Belay designed a web microsite accessible via QR code, conceived as a digital guide for immediate use. By scanning the QR code from the room, guests can access all the key information about the accommodation at a glance, without the need for registration or downloads.

The microsite was designed as a lightweight, visual tool focused on the real guest experience, prioritizing clarity of content and mobile navigation.

Actions carried out

The content architecture was developed based on the real needs of guests during their stay: hotel services, restaurant, schedules, spa, and activities. The information was organized hierarchically to facilitate quick reading and immediate decisions.

In terms of design and user experience, the microsite was aligned with the visual identity of Las Qolqas, maintaining brand consistency and opting for a clean, accessible interface designed for small screens. Navigation was resolved in a simple format, avoiding unnecessary steps and reducing cognitive load.

Regarding the technical implementation, a lightweight web solution was developed, optimized for fast loading times and compatible with the main mobile browsers. The QR code became the main access point, allowing it to be placed in rooms and common areas of the hotel.

Results

The project resulted in a functional and scalable digital guide, which improves the guest experience from the outset and reduces dependence on physical media.

The hotel now has a tool that is easy to maintain and update, while guests access essential information autonomously, clearly, and directly from their own device.

This microsite also lays the foundation for replicating the model in other accommodations, adapting it to different contexts, languages, and services, as part of a digital solution designed specifically for the hotel and conscious tourism sector.
